Beautiful picture. I love the sunsets. It is amazing to see how beautiful God has made everything…even the smallest of things. How was your weekend? I hope relaxing!

    Hi Ingrid,

I was wondering where you went on your getaway. It sounds wonderful and we could really use a nice quiet break like that too.
I hope you had a nice refreshing time with your husband.

It was a great weekend, and the weather cooperated with clear skies. We went to the fish fry at Popeye’s, which a famous place by the water and enjoyed just walking the town with its various shops and art galleries. When we go to Lake Geneva (Lake Como is 3 miles away) we like to spend time in the library which is on the lake. They have a place where you can sit and see the entire gorgeous panorama through a huge window. We sat and looked at some of those giant coffee table books you never normally take time to check out. Tom wants to go back to Germany, so we studied the Cologne Cathedral in one huge book on cathedrals of Europe. That place is surely the most audacious and awesome piece of architecture in the Western hemisphere. It took 600 years to finish!! Tom once climbed to the top of one of its turrets. Best of all, without my computer and the constant kid distractions, I was able to just enjoy the quiet for a change. For Tom and me it has been our way of surviving a very challenging and chaotic 15 years since we married. I thank the Lord for occasional breaks.
