My name is Ingrid Schlueter, and I am a Christian wife, mother, radio host, producer and columnist. I love to read many different kinds of books, enjoy classical and sacred music, antique shops, used bookstores, history and theology, and time with my children and my husband, Tom. This is my personal weblog where I share my thoughts and reflections about what God is doing in my life and in the lives of others around me. I also get to write here about some of the eclectic things I’m interested in. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Thank you for your wonderful work, God bless you and your family.
Ingrid,
I’ve been trying to get to slice for a couple of days now but can’t pull up the site anymore. Have you stopped doing it? I hope not! I really enjoy that blog!
Blessings,
Lori
Ingrid,
I’m am wondering how to view Slice of Laodicea? When I click on the site from my favorites I get directed to a site telling me I have to download something from Word Press. Is this legit?
Thanks,
Paul
Paul,
The site crashed Thursday and the host is putting the files in right now. I am hopeful it will be up this afternoon. (Monday 9-10). I’m sorry about all this but they took so long to address this!
Ingrid
Hi Ingrid,
I am so sad to see that Slice will be no more. Thank you for all the hard work you did on that site. I always felt that what you shared with your readers was done in a factual way and never from an emotional full of hate way. It seemed to me that you were truly grieved at the way the church has been going. So am I. May the Lord bless you in your other endeavors.
God bless.
Connie
Ingrid, I grieve over your loss of your work, A Slice of Laodicea. It was one of the most worthwhile places on the web, and I visited it every day. It was often a resource I used for additions to my sermon material, and often caused me to re-evaluate what I was doing as a pastor, and why I was doing it.
Should the Lord lead you to start over from scratch, I would rejoice. Bless you for your faithfulness.
Richard
Ingrid, I too with many others hope you may reconsider slice. As a Pastor I often found helpful quotes and articles for my people. Also I have a very similar ministry at http://www.revolutioninchrist.com from which your content kept me inspired to keep fighting the good fight. I will pray for you and the future and be assured your labor was not in vain! If my ministry can be of any service we would be glad to help.
For Him,
Jay Peters
Be a revolutionary, preach the gospel!
Ingrid,
I always felt that something was wrong in the church for years. I grew increasingly uncomfortable with what I saw was going on but I never could connect the dots on my own.
I just want to thank you for the hard work that you put into Slice of Laodicea. I’m so very sorry about what happened. This is terrible news for your regular readers, and I know it is devastating for you too. Please keep shining your light in these dark days. Don’t give up!
Thank you for all that you have done, I certainly have appreciated it immensely.
Blessings †,
Sue
I am so saddened by the loss of your work and the fact that you are discontinuing it. I visited your site every day and recommended it to many of my church friends. It was my favorite place on the web. Through it I have found other wonderful ministries that I am enjoying. I truly will miss you. I know you have suffered persecution at the hands of the uncrucified church, but rejoice in that your name is spoken of as evil. Great is your reward.
There is a web site that archives what is out on the web.
The site is http://web.archive.org
A friend did a search in the archive site
(which gives me the web page
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com) and found that much if not all of the SliceOfLaodicea site is archived there.
Hope this helps!

Ingrid:
Thank you for your work on Slice. I am really disappointed that it got shut down. Ipower’s handling of the situation is appaling. My prayer is that The Lord will give you the desire to start that work again, perhaps in another format. Please don’t let this discourage you! Thanks to your ministry, error was exposed and I’m sure many were blessed by this endeavor - Myself included. The Lord led me to your website and I learned volumes… and have used it as a witnessing tool. Do not let the wolves run rampant without opposition. They do not deserve that luxury!
May The Lord bless you,
Joe
Ingrid,
I hearby declare that you cannot abandon Slice. You cannot grow weary in well doing. It’s not allowed! There may be a lesson to learn in what happened, but I’m sure it’s not to stop doing what you were doing and give up. Maybe you can’t go back, but you can go on. Forward, march!!!!
Lovingly,
A long time listener and occasional reader.
Mary
Ingrid, it was obvious that you were speaking from the burden of your heart regarding the current state of the church. I valued your perspective and regret the loss of your work. I’m glad the Pope didn’t have the power to delete the 95 theses with the push of a button!
I don’t know how much response you will get now that “Slice” is gone, but I’d like to share with a story from my childhood. A little cousin was staying with us, and her mom had a cook who used frozen French fries (back when that was a novelty). My mother, on the other hand, was the family cook, and one evening as she began to prepare supper, she started peeling potatoes. My cousin asked what whe was doing, and she answered, “Making French fries.” My cousin stared at her incredulously and then said, “Is THAT where you get your French fries?”
I thought about that some years later when I was exposed to various types of theology in seminary. Someone differentiated biblical theology from philosophical, speculative, etc., and all I could think of was that theology has to go back to the Bible just like French fries have to go back to the potato. Without that source, there’s just no end product.
Please be assured that some of us will still be “slicing” our own potatoes (and sermons), in a solid attempt to “rightly divide the Word of truth.”
I am also saddened by the events that brought about your decision to let Slice go.
But, though your work was lost, your fruit remains.
It was of eternal value because you are motivated
to honor the Lord by standing for truth.
In standing for truth, you brought many through
confusing and hurtful times in their lives. By pointing
to truth. Which is only in God’s Word.
You did this through the Lord’s enabling,
and you gave insight to the many. I am one of the many
you have helped. The Lord used you during what was a
dark time for me and my family at our now former church.
Think Daniel, think Peter, think Paul.
Did they retire their ministry?
I love you and the work the Lord has done through you.
The apostasy is sweeping through whole towns.
Do you really believe you can step down at a time like this?
The Lord allowed the events that took your work.
He knows the end from the beginning.
So, stand, press on, and persevere to the end, in Him.
You are greatly loved, respected and appreciated out here.
Because you, standing faithfully for truth, are reflecting the Lord, who is the FAITHFUL ONE, and the TRUTH.
Great Job! HalleluYah!
I have been sincerely worried about you, sister Ingrid, and the challenges you face as a wife and mother, as well as a broadcaster.
I sincerely do not mean to hijack your ministry through these media, nor the message you discern from Heaven through this horrible loss of data you have experienced. But I would like you to consider something.
For years, now, I have pondered how a low-tech ministry would fare today. I hope I am not stretching here, but the ephemeral nature of the ministries that we disdain, particularly those with a worldly edge to them, are gilded with high technology. I believe that your recent experience underscores the vulnerability that we risk when we rely too much on technology.
So what do I make of this loss?
I once tried to re-orient a Youth meeting that was clearly getting out of hand…very worldly to be precise. Just one false accusation later, and BOOM, I was out of there. But then I was freed up to do other things.
I know a Chritian Tribal leader in Kenya who built a free medical clinic in the Kissii district. Shortly afterwards, it was taken over by a rival faction of his own family! The place is in ruins. But that very sad loss of the clinic forced him to …. spread the gospel! And, WOW, has he been on a roll, HalleluYah!
Paul was forbidden to preach in Asia. So he spread the gospel elsewhere.
Do you see the pattern here?
Many sweet and unexpected blessings to you and your family now.
Your resident Messianic,
Michael
Ingrid,
Randall from Knoxville,TN - very sorry to hear about the
Slice situation and what happened without your permission.
If I may, I would very much like to encourage you to consider starting that type of ministry again - maybe under
another title or the same one for that matter. It was one
that I enjoyed and used for research from time to time as
I’m dealing with a church situation that I’m very concerned
about as to its future because of things that I see happening.
May I say again, please consider doing another blog like
Slice - it’s a very valuable resource and the need for it is
great given the current poor state of affairs in the american
church and people need to know what’s happening and
remember that many of the so called “christians” really are
not christians at all because no one who is a christian could possibly be so and put out the utter poision that some of
these folk did.
Thanks for considering this request as well as the others requesting you to start again posting this info on what’s
going on in these “churches” and “ministeries”.
Ingrid, just learned about Slice’s demise. As a wannabe website designer/manager, this really hacks me off.
If you want to recover the text of your postings, go to
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com/
and you will find 85 pages dating back to 10/05.
Hope that’s helpful!
Blessings…
Frank
Ingrid, I would be interested in hosting Slice, or a new version of slice, on my companies web server at no cost to you. Please contact me if interested.
Ingrid,
I was writing to let you know that slice is still on the way back machine, but someone beat me to it.
I do want to echo the requests for you to start it up again. False teachers need to be called out.
Ginger
Mrs. Ingrid
I am saddened by the loss of such a labor of Love.
Slice led me to Much edification in the short time I knew of it, and used it. I am enjoying the writing here
Be of good faith, Our Lord has a reason for allowing that to happen, and as He takes away, Through your diligence and servitude, He will give back to you many times over.
I pray Lord to bring the lesson to Ingrid that you want her to learn. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive her, for even in this, you will be Glorified.
The Lessons taught through Her dilligance in opening many’s eyes to the sad state of our Churches, fed multitudes through it’s readers. Thank you for finding Her as a worthy vessel for which to edify us.
In the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
John.
I would just like to say, I’ve visited your site twice and I must admit it was informative, uplifting, and a pleasure to read. I am in total agreement with you, the church has moved in another direction, and I believe it is now called the ‘deity of man’. Growing up as a child I remember there was more glory being given to God, more reverence in His abiding presence, and His Holiness. Now men are requiring that the glory be for themmselves, and the awesomeness of God is secondary to man.
The church is now playing the harlot with strange doctrines, she has become a common bed wench with doctrines of demons. On a more glorious note God is fully aware of who is truly His Son’s Bride. He is not sleep, neither does He slumber……………Jennifer Bynum
Hi Ingrid,
I was really surprised and saddened to read of Slice’s demise. Slice has been one of my daily bookmarks for a while now and has been of great help to me. I’d wondered, ever since I became a Christian, why it seemed like so many other Christians were saying things that didn’t match the Bible…well, they were! and sites like Slice helped me see that no, I wasn’t wrong, these people really are preaching a different gospel about an unbiblical idea of Jesus.
Here’s a concrete example of how your work has helped — I recently moved to Cincinnati and have been attending a PCA church. Well, last week, the pastor announced he’s been reading a book by contemplativist Peter Scazzero and how he’s been practicing some of the techniques, like praying the “daily office.” Without what I’ve learned from the Word and without the help of Slice and some of your buddies (Apprising, etc.) I probably wouldn’t have thought twice about it. But you’ve helped me understand the danger in such things, and I’m going to try to find a better church where the Word is revered and mysticism is called the heresy it is. I wouldn’t have expected to have to worry in a PCA, Westminster-confessing church, but apparently I do. And your ministry has helped me remain vigilant.
So, thank you for your work, and I’ll certainly miss it. I hope you find some peace and rest as you unshoulder a little of the burden, though you didn’t plan to. I’m sure you’re upset beyond what I can imagine, but please take some solace in knowing that your work was a good, productive, fruitful ministry, well done and much appreciated.
May God continue to bless you and your family, and protect you from evil.
Christian
Hello Ingrid,
Thank you so much for your work of love that you have done at Slice. “Better is an open rebuke than a love that remains hidden.” It was one of the few sites that brought the clarity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the midst of self serving hirelings posing as Pastors of compassion.
I want to encourage you to consider maintaining Slice for the sake of the true Gospel and those that need to hear it. You have no idea how many people the Lord has snatched from the fires of hell using your website. God has given you the courage and tenacity to write and speak the truth. Please don’t grow weary now in well doing when His soon return is emminently near.
I’m truly praying for you,
Lisa
Ingrid,
I just read Chris’s post at Extremetheology.com, and I understand that you are upset that they deleted your site without any prior notice (you very well should be if you weren’t). That is terrible! I want you to know also, though, that even though the site may be gone, the darkness in what calls itself “evangelicalism” prevails. Your site (and insight) brought light to that darkness and just because we may be missing the past articles about the such, the fact is that darkness willl still persist if those past articles are there or not. I hope you reconsider starting it back up. Even if it does have to be just from the first post and works on from there. As Paul said, he forgot the things of the past and pressed on to the things which lie ahead. Your site shown light upon that darkness. I hope you will continue to with a new site even if it is starting out with one article at a time…
Prayerfully,
Lane Chaplin
Ingrid,
For those that are interested…

I think ALL of your posts are available (though a little buggy) - even the old Slice of Laodicea site.
Ingrid,
Slice was, for me and my friends, a daily stopping point and a great inspiration. I really enjoyed reading it daily as using it as a reference when talking to other people in my church and at work. I miss the site and all the work you put into it.
If you want to restart it, I’d be happy to help out as much as I could in pulling logs from the web archive and storing them for resubmission.
Either way, I understand where you’re coming from and I will respect your decision.
Thank you again.
- Ian
Ingrid, sad to hear about Slice. Not sure if this helps, but if you go to this link, Waybackmachine - and type in your website, it will pull some archived info from history online… May be able to retreive some items…

Ingrid,
Firstly, may the Lord bless you for faithfully defending
the Truth, it is a thankless task in earthly terms, it always was so.
Whether or not Slice returns is something I am sure you are seeking the Lord’s leading upon, all I can say is that it has been used thus far. I’ve been reading that dear old Puritan, Richard Sibbes, in his encouraging book ‘The Bruised Reed’.
In it he remarks, ‘God will not always suffer antichrist and his supporters to revel and swagger in the church as they do’ - which says to the faithful, ‘the battle belongs to the Lord’.
The Lord be with you and yours,
Daniel Oliver
Mrs. Schlueter,
Thank you for all your hard work in exposing the darkness now consuming the visible church. May the Lord bless you and yours with rest, refreshment, and focus in the days ahead.
Semper Fidelis,

Ingrid,
It was because of bloggers like yourself that I was able to pin what it was I had been so discontent with in the evangelical church of today. After a couple of years of visiting most of the churches in my area I finally found a Sovereign Grace church that is true to God’s Word. Your site was a beacon of truth in a time when the church is selling something other than the Truth. By reading all these posts you definitely are appreciated and loved in the blogosphere. I would love to see SLICE resurrected.

I just found slice, and now it’s gone!
I would encourage you to start that work again… but this time, back up all your stuff on your own computer, because the Devil is not stupid.
Blessings to you for your stuff!
Ingrid,
We have missed the encouragement and plumb-line that you provide through Slice, but we know the Lord will accomplish his will however He sees fit. Thank you so much for doing your part as you have been called.
You have used your gifts to point others towards the Lord, not towards yourself. May all of us who miss you take this opportunity to ask the Lord, “How may I serve You, Lord?”
May the Lord grant you peace,
Jennifer
If you go to http://www.archive.org and type in http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com/ You will find most of your content still stored! Good luck!
Ingrid,
I totally respect your decision not to start over again, but I hope that the work and the burden you carry to inform everybody about what has become of American Christianity should not end in Sliceoflaodicea.
I have been going to Slice website for about a year now. It is just now that I have realized that much of who I am now in Christ, my thinking and points of view of the church has been influenced by your website. Somehow, I have grown accustomed to checking your site everyday before I start my day at work. I will probably stop by a couple of times through the rest of my day just to see if there are any updates. Your website has introduced me to other sites that share the same burden that you have. Again I thank God for leading me to these helpful resources to my daily walk with Him.
If anything, it’s the awareness that your site have sparked in my life. Before going to your site, I have never heard of the emergent church, of the clown service, of the true principle of the purpose driven life book and author (although, I have to admit that I did own the book for sometime), and many more. But you see, my point is that i never really noticed all these things in my church and in my life, until now. I was just receiving and taking everything in, never really testing the Spirit, never comparing the teachings of man against the unchanging and perfect Word of God. Because if anything, I trusted these people thinking that they’re God sent (I was used to never touch the anointed ones!) But in doing so, God has led me to your site, to discover one thing. To learn how to use discernment (which I believe that most of the professing believers does not have, or are not exercising, at least.) Your site was a catalyst to my newfound endeavor, to find the truth. It became a chain reaction, from your site, i have seen windows upon windows of Truth, that though I’ve known and believed, I have never actually lived them.
I have grown accustomed to the word of faith preachers, Benny Hinn, TD Jakes, Joel Osteen, to name a few. And this has been somewhat my convenient truth when I’m not reading the Word of God, thinking that they’re “alright.” Now as I see, there are no truth in them at all, and if there’s even an iota of it, it is so watered down, diluted to the point that it’s not pure and eventually believing that they’re not of God. It’s because of your site that led me to hear the preachings of Paul Washer, John Mcarthur, John Piper etc. These men of God is the modern day Paul & Peter… NO COMPROMISE. It’s because of God’s grace that He had led me to your site to discover these things, which now, I hold great value.
I respect your decision, but I hope that you would reconsider. I am pretty sure that I am not the only that have found your site to be of great value in their Christian lives. You have influenced mine, and I thank God for you. For believers like you that has the real passion to spread the truth of the Gospel of our Almighty Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
To God be the glory, the honor, and the power forever!
Your brother in Christ…
Neil
PS: I’m sorry if my comment is a bit lengthy, you don’t need to post this. This is a message for you, in love through Christ Jesus.
Just learned that Slice is gone. WHAT A HUGE LETDOWN! Perhaps someone could buy the domain and carry the torch?
Anyway, it’s also good to know that you’ll be changing directions for a more positive spin. Thanks for encouraging your corner of the world!
Ingreid,
I thought this might encourage you. Your sister in Christ - Diane
William Carey - called “Father of Modern Missions’
Cast down but not in despair
“…we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed… perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed — always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
“William Carey… dedicated his life to spreading the gospel in India. Serving as a missionary there from 1793 until his death in 1834, he… [hoped] to translate Scripture into as many Indian languages and dialects as possible….
Carey supervised the creation of India’s first printing press. He established a large print shop in the city of Serampore, where he did his Bible translation. The building was two hundred by fifty feet, and twenty translators worked there in addition to typesetters, compositors, pressmen, binders, and other writers.
On March 11, 1812, Carey was teaching in Calcutta. While he was gone, a fire started in the printing room…. Despite many hours of exhaustive efforts to fight the fire, the building burned to the ground. Just five pieces of equipment were saved.
Carey’s entire library, his completed Sanskrit dictionary, part of his Bengal dictionary, two grammar books, and ten translations of the Bible were lost. Gone also were the type sets for printing fourteen different languages. Vast quantities of English paper, priceless dictionaries, deeds, and account books were all gone.
When Carey returned to Serampore and surveyed the scene, he wept and said,
“In one short evening the labours of years are consumed. How unsearchable are the ways of God. I had lately brought some things to the utmost perfection of which they seemed capable, and contemplated the missionary establishment with perhaps too much self-congratulation. The Lord has laid me low, that I may look more simply to him.”
Although he was heartbroken, he did not take much time to mourn. With great resiliency Carey wrote,
“The loss is heavy, but as traveling a road the second time is usually done with greater ease than the first time, so I trust the work will lose nothing of real value. We are not discouraged; indeed the work is already begun again in every language. We are cast down but not in despair.”
Carey resolved to trust God that from the embers would come a better press and more scholarly translations. Within a few months Carey had set up shop in a warehouse.
Little did Carey know that the fire would bring him and his work to the attention of people all over Europe and America as well as India. In just fifty days in England and Scotland alone, about ten thousand pounds were raised for rebuilding Carey’s publishing enterprise. So much money was coming in that Andrew Fuller, Carey’s friend and a leader of his mission in England, told his committee when he returned from a fund-raising trip, “We must stop the coninbutions.”
Many volunteers came to India to help as well. By 1832 Carey’s rebuilt and expanded printing operation had published complete Bibles or portions of the Bible in forty-four languages and dialects!

Diane,
Sweet words. I thank you so much for that encouragement! I appreciate it so much. I am carrying on and am asking the Lord to tweak what I do according to His will. It’s all about Him anyway and whatever we do is used for a time and then is gone. Whatever God chooses to bless will reap eternal results and the rest is dross. I think the Lord allows things like this to build our faith and to remind us to keep our eyes on him, not our service!
The Lord bless all of you who have been so encouraging!
Ingrid: Although you and I hardly ever agree, I want to encourage you to keep up your work. We all have a voice, including you. And it deserves to be heard just like anyone else’s. Blessings on your efforts. david
It is a good thing that you are still on your feet to carry on. Take heart for you still have a long journey ahead of you.
Keep up your work and God will bless you on every attempt of serving Him.
Just learned about the demise of your site from David ’s (nakedpastor’s) blog.
I would echo his sentiments - as I tend to agree with his point of view more than yours. Don’t give up doing - and saying - what you feel you need to do.
I actually came to this blog to tell you that all is not lost, that your articles are still available on the “wayback machine”, but a number of other people beat me to it!
Rainer
Thanks to the help of a Slice reader named John, who saved all my posts to Word docs, I am contemplating the rebuilding of the Slice database with the “best of Slice”, taking only the better posts that are not dated and re-setting it up. You can pray that if this is the Lord’s will, this will be done.
I want to thank Rainer and the pastor for their kindness. Thank you.
Ingrid,
I drive a truck for a living but not by choice. I once worked in Christian radio doing news and commentary but apparently the powers that be decided that they wanted none of that and the station has become a “Christian Rock” station and is climbing in the ratings as a result. I am one of those who believes that you can’t attach the name “Christian” to anything to sanitize it. Sin is sin.Jesus died for it and we should flee from it.
I have been a regular visitor to your Slice site and upon returning home from one of my trips on the big truck, I was shocked to see that it was no longer there. Once I read your explanation of what happened, I just had to contact you with a suggestion for future posts on whatever site you have or create in the future. First type your piece out as a .txt file and save it to your hard drive. Keep copies of everything that goes on your site and if necessary you can recreate the site from scratch in short order.
I don’t know if you have room in your company for someone like me who can do radio interviews on location. I have my own studio and a news tape library that goes back to the 80’s. Among those are tape of when I was kicked out of a Planned Parenthood press conference in 1989 because as a Christian journalist I was unacceptable to them. That piece of tape wound up on Marlin Maddoux’s Point of View program. While I want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem, I also have to make a living. Since I have all my own equipment, I don’t necessarily need to do interviews in your studio, but can record them in mine and upload the mp3 files to your site for your use later. I use Adobe Audition for audio recording and have been using that since it was Cool Edit, a program produced originally by a company called Syntrilllium. I look forward to hearing from you. If I don’t answer immediately, I might be on the truck. My e-mail is dovestar@earthlink.net, and you can call me on my cell at (281) 787-2405. Together with God’s help, let’s shine a light in the darkness.
Ingrid, the loss of your work is truly heartbreaking.
As a young Christian wife and mother you are one of my greatest role models, and I am so thankful for the work God has done through you.
I hope this site does turn into another Slice. I am praying the Lord will encourage you and show you how important your voice is to so many of us.
Jessica
Though I’m late in commenting, I too wanted to say that I have missed Slice and was sad to see it go. I don’t know you personally, but I wanted to say as I told you the first time I went to Slice over a year ago, that I am so blessed to have an example of the kind of Christian woman that I desire to be. A longing for holiness in the Bride of Christ and a zeal for the glory of God seem to be rare these days. Thank you for showing me that I am not alone, especially as a woman. May our Lord continue to lead you and guide you into all truth, and may you continue to feel the gentle strength of His everlasting arms holding you up. Ephesians 2:10.
Greetings from New Zealand. Yay for people like you Ingrid who are not prepared to merge with the modern day church. I finally got my new computer and added all my favourite websites to my favourites list…Moriel, DITC, Let us Reason, Laodicea etc. I am on holiday so I sat down and opened them up to visit them. Alas I have just read your final post. I live in a town of 50 000 people and am finding it VERY difficult to find a chirch that is not prosperity or purpose driven, or new ageist, or just plain apostate. These sites bring much encouragement to me so I just want to encourage you in the work you do.
Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His love endures forever.
Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord
or fully declare His praise?
Blessed are they who maintain justice,
who constantly do what is right.
Remember me O Lord when you show favour to your people,
come to my aid when you save them,
that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may share in the joy of your nation
and join in the inheritance in giving praise.
Psalm 106:1-5

Ingrid I was disheartened to hear all your hard work was lost.
Knowing a bit about these things I know they CAN resotre from last month’s backup quite easily (most stes do full backups daily) and then incrementally until your site is resotred. then you can archive your work locally, like I do.
If you need help securing your data do give me call and I will, I assure you, get your data back.

Hi Ingrid
Without going into to much detail, I sold a business and have 8 months with my severely disabled wife to focus on therapy before I have to get into work from home searching hard. What a blessing to learn and know of the Lord more as well as care for her more. I see you lost Slice. I see archive.org has a ton of the articles still there.
I would be more than happy to copy and paste all these for you into a database. Volunteer of course, it would be great to be able to volunteer for a ministry. If you like please let me know, I have the time off and on to do this.
Lord bless
Kevin
Sister,
Please restore Slice, we are living in end times. Satan hated your site, because it was stating truth. Do not let him win!!!
We are good ministers in Christ when we point these things to our brothers 1 Timothy 4:6, concering demonic lies.
Praise God for brothers and sisters like you. I feel alone somethimes because many do not read thier bibles, and when I talk to my brothers they think I am dogmatic.
We love you Lord Jesus, may we stay strong until we meet you in the air.
Praise God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

First of all i wanna apologise for my bad english , i am from antwerp belgium and didnt learn english @ school.
The reason why i write this comment >>>
I found a link to slice trough the (dutch) site of marc verhoeven http://www.verhoevenmarc.be/
Thanks to the work of Marc, a true brother in Christ my eyes are open again (i was lost in a charismatic misbelief)
Pls give Your work a new try , dont give up that easy.
Maybe a few ppl can be reached and God uses it to open some ppl eyes.
Be Blessed,
Eric
Eric,
Ingrid is not giving up, she is seeking God’s will for her. All you readers need to remember Ingrid is a wife and a mother which are her first priorities with the Lord. Be at peace. There are many good web sites that proclaim the truth. Look at Ingrid’s links. Don’t forget we have an enemy that is happy to keep us busy doing a good thing so we neglect the great thing (Gods will)! Pray for Ingrid , that she fears the Lord, that she has wisdom and understanding of what the Lord’s will is for her and the web site. This isn’t about a web site, It’s about obeying God! In the end it’s all good. Whatever Gods will is for the web site it’s good with or without it because God is good. Now I need to get off this site and practice what I preach because I’m a wife and a mother too and I spend too much time reading these things when I should be putting my hands to the plow in my mundane life.
- Diane
I did’nt see it that way , and yes Diane , i know what You mean, and i think You are right, its not about what we would like or how we think God should work, its about the way Gods chooses to work.
ofc i will pray for Ingrid

Ingrid:
If you wish to recover SliceOfLaodicea.Com I suggest that you contact Frank McCown @ Old Dominion University.
He has created a tool called “Warrick” that rebuilds deleted sites by pulling all of the information stored by web search engines like google who regularly crawl and cache (copy) sites in their databases.
If he has time he can be persuaded to run the tool to recover the most recently cached version of your deleted website (which you can then upload to the host of your choice to restore it).
His email address is fmccown@cs.odu.edu .

Hi Ingrid,
Along the lines of Jack’s post above, you may also wish to check out the “Internet Archive”. It is a service that periodically takes a content grab of every indexed web site. If you head to (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com) you can see the results of multiple content grabs per month dating back to October 25, 2005. It would allow you to get a lot of your content back (not sure if the method Jack described would be better). Hope this helps!

have you got anything for lukewarm christians who have slid all the way down the slope to completely frozen?
I’ll be honest with you - I used to hate Slice. Sorry. I love the Gospel of grace; I love the preaching of the Word; I love (mostly) the painful and rewarding process of submitting to the Lordship of Jesus. We’re brother and sister, Ingrid. And yet I just can’t get as bothered by a lot of the things that believe are portents of the end (some of them I do, though - I too would feel pretty short-changed if a preacher’s text was Green Eggs and Ham, for instance!), so I just felt sort of shot at and misrepresented by Slice rather than rebuked or encouraged. So I stopped reading.
It was only through looking for some Paul Gerhardt lyrics that I came back. And my, how things have changed. Ingrid, there are still things I believe we’d disagree about as brother and sister in Christ, but the atmosphere here is truly different. You’re speaking the truth in love, and that’s the sort of thing I can listen to and, who knows, maybe learn from.
So yeah. Thanks - for growing in love and truth and letting the internet see as God makes you more like him. It’s cool.
That’s all.
That should read “that *you* believe are portents…”
Sorry!
Sister Ingrid,
Thank you for your faithful service and your adherence to a prophet-like call. Keep fighting the good fight.
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus!
Ingrid,
I ‘m sorry to see Slice offline. =(
Although I would love to see you bring it back, I also know as a Pastor, Evangelist and Prophetic Teacher of the Gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ… as well as the Webmaster, Radio Host and Producer of Streams in the Desert Ministries & House Church, Web Ministry and Streams in the Desert Live! Radio Broadcast, that this only means that the Lord is taking you to a “New Level” here in this last hour… just before the imminent return of the Lord Jesus! And as a Prophetic friend of mine always says “New Level New Devil!” Shalom and Blessings to you… in all that the Lord God has called you to do in getting the “Good News’ of his one and only begotten Son Jesus Christ, out to the people of this lost and dying world!
May the Peace of the Lord Jesus be unto you and your family always!
Much Love in Jesus!

hi ingrid
sorry to hear about ’slice’, it was a much valued source of information, concise and informative, always with the glory and honour of Christ in mind. May the Lord bless and protect you and your family in whichever new area of service He has for you.

ps glad to see some Thomas Watson on your site
Have you read ‘ the godly man’s picture?’
Ingrid,
I love the show Crosstalk and listen almost every day. I wondered if your, your father or Jim has considered doing a show on churches ran by homosexual pastors? I found a site not long ago that was led by two homosexual men… needless to say, this confused me. I have found numerous “gay churches” online and cannot understand how they dance around, not just common sense, but all the passages that condemn the act. I am leaving this link so you can see how one “pastor” fails to answer his own question: Is homosexuality a Sin?

I would like to know who the is the artist and title of the print you have posted on your website. I would like to find that print, it is beautiful! Am enjoying your commentaries and thanks for the references to the book suggestions. Hope you had a wonderful time in Door County. I went there years ago for a day visit in the Fall and it was beautiful beyond words! I am originally from Appleton/Menasha Wisconsin and do miss this time of the year.
God Bless you,

your site is a blessing.I recently ran across a site called Veritas by barefootinthepark & noticed they use the same picture & format as you–is there any connection between the two sites?
Hi,
The picture is just a free template you can use and lots of bloggers use it! It’s popular for a reason because it’s such a restful scene. It sure contrasts with the constant rush and stress of our world today.
Thanks for writing!
I didn’t know how to contact you other than this way. I know you are friends with the man that has the “A Little Leaven” website & have noticed it’s been the same for over a month. I just wondered if he was OK. Sorry to bother you I was just wondering.
