Time measured out my days
Life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God
But knew Id never be so strong
I looked hard at this world
To learn how heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began
Where human effort is all in vain
Chorus
Were it not for grace
I can tell you where I’d be
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me
I know how that would go
The battles I would face
Forever running but losing the race
Were it not for grace
So here is all my praise
Expressed with all my heart
Offered to the Friend who took my place
And ran a course I could not start
And when He saw in full
Just how much His love would cost
He still went the final mile between me and heaven
So I would not be lost
Repeat Chorus
Forever running but losing the race
Were it not for grace…

Beautiful! All the faiths that add to or replace Christ’s perfect and finished work at Calvary with human effort have really missed the heart of God’s redemptive love.

That’s beautiful. It’s all God’s amazing GRACE. Unmerited, undeserved, unearned, Unbelievable to us human beings that God would send His Son to die for wicked vile men… It’s the most incredible LOVE for Christ to die for us while we still were his enemies.
Rom 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Thank you for sharing Ingrid. You’re a lovely person and may the love of Christ touch your heart to understand just how wide, deep, high and long God’s love is for you today..
