For those who saw the prayer request at Slice, I wanted to briefly update you. On Thursday, a routine blood pressure check showed that it was up in the danger zone. At the hospital, they put me on the ‘every 5 minute’ blood pressure monitor and baby monitor. Due to my other health issues and history with the last baby, any sustained significant rise in blood pressure means early delivery. Unfortunately, my doctor is on vacation until Monday, and the doctor on call decided to wait and watch the blood pressure until he returns. After about four hours it started to go down again, so she decided to try to wait until my doctor is back in town to make the determination when to induce. Every day counts for the baby’s well-being and since I’ve made it to 33 weeks, the baby’s lungs won’t need to have steriod injections to speed up development–something which would have complicated my diabetes greatly. I am sitting up now and the blood pressure is still elevated, but not dangerously today, so I am grateful. Due to the kind email questions, I wanted to put something up as an update. The waiting and having to be still is difficult, but I know that each day my baby is progressing to a stronger state, and I know God’s timing will be right. A warm thank-you to all my Slice and Hope friends for remembering me in prayer. It’s been a rough few months, but God is always faithful.
In the mean time, baby and I are enjoying music on my laptop. I enjoy Southern Gospel, the old kind. Here’s one I really like, I thought I’d share it with you.

Thank you, so much for the update! I’ve been wondering, ever since I saw the prayer request on Slice. Thankfully, you’re doing better, and your precious little girl is okay, and just waiting to make her grand appearance! God is good, all of the time!
I loved your music post, too! I, too, love the old Southern Gospel hymns. It will be great to gather around the “throne eternal,” and sing praises to our Heavenly King!
Will continue to pray, for you, your baby, and your family. Enjoy your “down” time.
Blessings!!
Thank you for posting. I have been returning again and again to Slice and to your blog in hopes of catching an update. Glad that the pressure went back down and that you and baby are doing well. Will be praying.
I am so very thankful to hear that you both are all right. I would say it’s silly to care so much about someone you have never met but God’s spirit binds us as sisters and you have my prayers and my love goes to you all. I feel I am waiting as I did for my very much wanted grandchildren to appear. Keep us all informed. God bless and keep you.
I’m so glad you are doing better.
Whew! What a relief to hear the good news answer to prayer that you and baby are in a stable condition, Praise the Lord! It sure has been a roller coaster ride, hasn’t it Ingrid? You and the little lamb are in the palm of His Hand – no better place to be, Praise God. Both of you keep listening to His music – it keeps the adversary away! Please try to rest and stay calm and take a break from taking care of the housework and following all of the dysfunctions of the world and church for now! And please have Tom give you a big hug for me! : )
And thanks for sharing that wonderful song!
We will keep praying here!! You just keep resting!! It’s good to “hear” from you and know that things with you and your sweet baby are safe thus far.
Oh, and the song was WONDERFUL! What gorgeous harmony!!
His,
Mrs. U
I too have been watching for news since the posting of the prayer request on Slice…and praying for you and your daughter. I feel like Linda…although we have never met, I have come to care about you and your family through reading Slice. Thank you for sharing the video. Southern gospel is one of my favorites. I also listened to “Let Freedom Ring”. The Son has made us free indeed! Praise Him!

Good to hear from you. I’ve been checking for updates and praying for you, Tom and the kids.
Good news for you! Every day the little baby is still growing so every day helps as you well know.
Thanks for keeping us all updated – we are praying for you and thinking about you!
I LOVE old southern gospel music – thanks so much for that. I can trace it to years ago when my sister and I went to Bible Camp. The music director put my sister and I and another little girl in a trio and we learned some lovely songs in three part harmony. (Heaven Came Down, Praise the Lord of Heaven, etc.) Whenever we see each other my sister and I can instantly break into one of those beautiful songs – and this is 40 years later!
Hi Ingrid,
I’m just a week ahead of you, 34 weeks yesterday, and have been watching your updates since you first announced. I saw the request on Slice and Brandon and I have been praying for you. I have had to battle pre-eclampsia with my firstborn and to a lesser degree my second, but praise the Lord, my bp’s not started spiking this go around. I know how frustrating it can be and how scary to have to birth in a situation you wouldn’t have chosen, but our God already the day he has chosen for our sweet babies’ births and the good plans he has for them. I pray the Lord keeps you and the child he has given you safe and gives your doctors great wisdom and gives you, Tom and your family peace beyond all understanding.
In Christ,
Elizabeth
Praise God we are each in His loving hands.
Dear Ingrid,
I will continue on in prayer. May God give you peace, comfort, and joy as you wait on the arrival of your new little girl. “Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests be made known to God. And the peace God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6
Much love,
Jess
Ingrid:
I’m sooo glad you and baby are OK. You are still in my prayers!
God bless you and your family!
So glad to get this update, Ingrid. I have been praying and checking here and on Slice each day hoping for some news. You had such a hard time with all the flooding in the basement and then these problems with the blood pressure. I felt so bad to hear of it. But God has been faithful in it all and I know He will bring you and your baby through to a safe delivery. It is a blessing she is doing well and getting more time to grow and mature. I will keep lifting you up in prayer daily. So very good to hear from you today!!
Hi Ingrid!
I am very happy that things are worked out and that you and your baby are being taken care of so lovingly by The Great Physician!
As a diabetic sufferer, I know what it means!
I also take blood pressure tablets…
All in all, our great Saviour Jesus Christ knows every single intricate detail of what we need and what is happening with our bodies and He does take care of us!
GOD bless!

Still praying…
Thanks for the update.
Praying here, too! Thanks for the update!
Continuing to pray for you!
Very grateful for this update. Lifting you up in prayer daily. Keep trusting in our Heavenly Father!
Saying a prayer for you and your sweet baby. Hoping you can go a while before delivery.
Blessings!

Thank you for keeping us updated. The Lord knows what He is doing. Just rest in Him. Continuing to pray for you and your little girl!
Joined the prayer network here and said a prayer for you and baby. Soft hymns are a comfort to our stressed minds and bodies. Good idea, Ingrid.
God bless you sister!
Thanks for the update and we look forward to more good news. Kevin
Ingrid,
I was happy to see that there was an update here. As you can see by what many have posted, you have many that are praying for you in the expectation of safety for you and your new bundle of joy.
The music post was a blessing…thank you for putting it here. I love this music too!
You are loved!
Thanks for the update Ingrid. You are a blessing to us. They’re not may voices out there doing what you do.
May the Lord encourage and sustain you during this time. May He protect you and your wonderful little girl.
Glad you and your baby are doing well – praise God.
I can tell by your work on Slice that you are feeling better, PTL!
Keep us posted! Prayers are going up and Mother was so pleased with your sweet card to her. I can harldy wait for Baby Girl Schlueter to appear! Do we have a name yet?
