I finished my writing class in early December and immediately got set up for an editing and publishing class that looked perfect for some of the skills I am seeking to improve. On Christmas Eve
Posted in Worship on December 24, 2008 | 3 Comments »
There is a beautiful order of worship for Christmas Eve at The Way of a Pilgrim blog. It is very similar to the Lutheran vespers service which we use. You can use this in personal devotions, but also for family worship if you so choose.

Wife: Honey, we need about 20 large plastic cups for the party tonight. Get those large red ones. Also, get some ready-made pies from the bakery. I don’t have time to make any, and I don’t want to have to bake anything at the last minute.

Tomorrow night is my last class of the semester. It has been interesting getting back into the student mode again after so many years of motherhood. I thought I’d list a few things I experienced in the last few months in returning to the college where I started out years ago. Some experiences were expected, [...]

My son, Samuel, has a wonderful blog, and he recently tweaked it for Christmas. Here is his latest post with a breathtakingly beautiful version of, “Love Came Down at Christmas”, based on Christina Rossetti’s poem.

O Jesus Christ, Thy manger is
My paradise at which my soul reclineth.
For there, O Lord, doth lie the Word
Made flesh for us; herein Thy grace forthshineth.
He Whom the sea and wind obey
Doth come to serve the sinner in great meekness.
Thou, God’s own Son, with us art one,
Dost join us and our children in our weakness.
Thy [...]
