Psalm 19 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork.” This piece is Psalm 19, by Benedetto Marcello. Jon’s camera was too close to his dad’s trumpet and the crowd noise was high as this was a church postlude, but the piece is a nice one.

Wow! Talk about praising the Lord! Tom plays for the glory of God with such precision and confidence and strength–God’s strength, not his own. This is truly magnificent stuff from such a godly and humble man. God bless you, Ingrid and your family as well. Love to all of you.
[...] beautiful Psalm was the inspiration for this joyful piece of music by Marcello. I hope it’s a blessing to you this Lord’s [...]
AWESOME!! The organ sounds like a big one. Thanks for posting this, Ingrid.
As a brass lover for many years I really enjoyed this. Your husband has a real gift. Do you mind if I ask what kind of pic he’s playing and also what size mouthpiece? Thanks again.
Hi Scott,
It’s a Schilke P5-4 piccolo. Tom laughed when I told him a reader had asked about the mouthpiece because only the serious brass lovers do that. The mouthpiece is a 3C with an older 36 throat.
It’s good to hear from another brass fan!
My wife, Patricia, and I have been serving the Lord in a music ministry for 14 years. She plays French horn, trumpet, pocket trumpet and flugel. I play soprano, alto and tenor saxes, clarinet and Irish penny whistles. We were listening to Tito Puente’s big band the other night, especially the trumpet section, and now, after hearing Tom’s beautiful postlude, her comment was, “He has a lot more class than those jazz guys.”
Glorious music!
Tom–Vielen dank! Sehr schön. Ich wohne in Frankfurt am Main—wo wohnst du?
Ya beat me to it!
If you might remember in an e-mail I sent last week, I mentioned I had a question for Tom regarding his music I was going to ask later. Well, my question has been answered in the sharing of this video.
I was going to ask if there was any audio/video available of him playing in accompaniment to a pipe organ and, lo and behold, here it is!
Thank you for this wonderful treat! Regards to Tom and praise to God for the marvelous talent He has blessed him with. Tom gives back to God in musical worship for His glory and for our enjoyment and inspiration.
Encore! Encore!
Wow! I’m so impressed. Please feel free to share anything like this, lol, it’s such a treat. Thank you.
B. Ritter,
Bitte schön. Ich wohne in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ich spreche leider nur ein klein wenig Deutsch. Es war nett. Sie kennenzulernen.
Alles gute!
Great playing, and for the right reason. My daughter sent me the link and I really appreciate it.
