A Short Pause
October 10, 2007 by Ingrid Schlueter
My husband, William and I are kidnapping my mother and taking her away on a three day trip to Door County. This is peak weekend for leaves in many parts of our state, and we wanted to give her a change of scenery. Mom serves others every day of her life but rarely does anything for herself or goes anywhere. We’re hoping to visit some wonderful used bookshops up there and also an antique store or two. The real blessing is in not having to DO anything. Lord willing, I will be back Saturday. In the mean time, I wanted to let readers know two things. The message from Pastor Jeff Noblit from last Saturday night in Milwaukee is now available on CD through VCY America. It was over an hour of wonderful Bible teaching on the true church and what is should look like. Call 800-729-9829 if you are interested. Get one for your pastor while you’re at it. Perhaps it will encourage him in his work. Secondly, I did an interview with Steve Renkema from Reformation Heritage Books on Monday. They have gotten plenty of orders from listeners who were delighted to hear about some of their wonderful books on the program. If you’re looking for books for loved ones for the Christmas season, take a look at what they offer at their online bookstore. They have their children’s books broken down by age. We have many of the boys adventure books and biographies they offer for young people. Highly recommended. There are Puritan reprints that will make your heart sing. Please note Christ Crucified: The Marrow of the Gospel in 72 Sermons on Isaiah 53 by James Durham. I hope these books are an encouragement to you!
I have ordered my CD’s of Bro. Noblit’ talk on the true church. Will certainly look at the books as well that you mention…my weakness. I pray that VCY will put Bro. Noblit’s sermon on sermonaudion.com. so that many can hear it.
Bless you for honoring your mom. Hope you have a nice trip and especially hope she enjoys it immensly.
Have fun, Ingrid’s mother!
Boo hoo. I want to go too.
Good Interview of Steve Renkema, Ingrid.
Thanks for all you do.
I’ll miss your posts while you are gone, but I pray for traveling mercies for you and your family adn pray that you have a very restful, relaxing time!
Enjoy, Ingrid, and be refreshed. I pray to the Lord that this vacation goes better than your last one!
Ingrid,
Have a wonderful and restful time with your family!
